WHAT TO EXPECT

What to Expect

YOU, the customer, can expect a team of trustworthy individuals who you can count on. When they arrive, they will not waste any time, and will begin by doing a walk through of what items go and what items stay. The Foreman will have you sign the paperwork while the rest of the crew gets to work.
The crew will protect anything that needs to be protected such as floors or railings if the customer desires, but remember that all of these precautionary preparations will lengthen the job. After the runners are placed, the crew will professionally wrap any and all furniture with pad blankets and/or shrink wrap. Cardboard will be used on any glass as shown in the picture to prevent any accidents. The crew will also disassemble any beds or tables if needed. TV's will be packed in our durable TV Boxes at an extra charge.
As the furniture is being wrapped and everything being prepped, the rest of the crew will start 'running' the boxes, furniture, and items to the truck. Everything will be handled with care and concern. If there is a distance from the truck to the house, or flights of stairs, or elevators; It will extend the length of the job, but we do have remedies such as our durable 'speed-paks'. Also if you have hanging clothes, we will lend you our wardrobes at no additional cost.

Once the items reach the truck, one or more of the crew members will load the truck so that every item fits snug and compact so that the truck's space is maximized [notable for bigger moves] and nothing is left behind. As one customer put it, "It's like playing Tetris". If something comes to the truck unwrapped such as chairs for the sake of time, the loader will 'drape' the item with a pad to assure that nothing is unprotected. Our mission is to assure that every item remains in the same condition that it was before the start of the move.

The procedure at the destination is similar to that of the origin except it should go quicker [not taking in account walking distance or unforeseen circumstances]. The crew will do any preparation [usually the case with newer homes] and will do a short walk through.  As the items are brought in, the customer will direct the crew where each item should go. The team will reassemble and unwrap all furniture. Once the truck is empty, the house is arranged appropriately, and the customer is happy; then we will clear out all our materials and equipment. We will have the customer verify that our truck is empty and the foremen will go over the paperwork with them.

Customer Preparation

Customer: Well How do I Get Prepared?

Good Question! The number one reason for a job extending longer than it should is when the customer is NOT ready. By the day of the move, the customer should know exactly what items are going and which are staying. All loose items should be packed in boxes and the customer SHOULD know where each item will go at the new house [destination], as well as the configuration of all furniture.  FOR EXAMPLE: You wouldn't want the guys rearranging all the furniture after its already been placed in the house, due to uncertainty. But, we will do it...as long as the customer is satisfied at the end of the job.

There are many things that the customer can do themselves that can save them a lot of money. The customer can disassemble all beds, ready to be wrapped when the guys arrive. The customer can and should (recommended) disconnect all appliances such as refrigerator, washer, and dryer. All loose glass, TV's[screens], stone of any kind[marble, granite, etc.] should be packed, crated, and/or protected in one way or another before entering the truck, to prevent extra fees. One thing customers have done is label each room with painters tape so the guys know exactly where each item goes without the customer needing to tell them. Lastly, when the crew arrives, it is the customer's job to direct, not dictate how the job should get done.

*Again, we do all these services as well, but the more you will be able to do, the more you can save.

If you follow this advice, you just saved yourself a lot of money!
